Wurmbrand Romanian Children’s Foundation is an advocacy, development, and relief organization working on behalf of the children of Romania. The primary mission of Wurmbrand Foundation is to facilitate and support bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the children of Iași, Romania through Wurmbrand Academy.
An abundant life starts with a great foundation.
Wurmbrand Academy is a K-12 school formed in 1995 when a group of bold and faithful Romanian teachers felt God had called them to start a school that would provide quality, holistic education with Christian teaching and a Biblical worldview. As their country was just emerging from behind the Iron Curtain after decades of Communist rule, the school and its staff often faced hostility and persecution. Thanks to their perseverance and faithfulness, a generation of Romanians has been transformed.

Located in the Moldavian region, Iași is the second largest city in Romania by population. Home to the nation’s oldest university, it is also considered to be an academic and cultural center. Despite its rich history, the northeastern area of Romania is among the most impoverished in all of the European Union.
Our Namesake
Richard Wurmbrand, founder of Voice of the Martyrs, was a Romanian minister whose courageous faith sustained him through fourteen years of imprisonment and torture. His testimony of endurance, redemption, and radical forgiveness is still changing lives today.
